Dr. Syed Ghazanfar Saleem is a consultant and Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at The Indus Hospital, Korangi, Karachi. With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the emergency departments became the epicenter of the COVID-19 response. As a result, Dr. Ghazanfar went above and beyond the call of duty and worked on the premise 24/7 for the first 2 months of the pandemic. He also expanded the emergency area to accommodate COVID-19 patients. Furthermore, Dr. Ghazanfar worked with the Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine team at the Indus Health Network to develop protocols and procedures for effective management and treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Sonia Qureshi
Dr. Sonia Qureshi is a Pediatric Infectious Disease specialist, working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatric, Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Karachi. Dr. Sonia developed institutional guidelines for the screening and management of COVID-19 in children, which has also been adopted by the Pakistan Pediatric Association. Dr. Sonia also facilitated the national and provincial (KPK) training of trainers on the guidelines for the management of COVID-19 in children to the pediatricians across Pakistan.
Syed Osama Hussain
Dr. Osama is a resident medical officer at the Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar, specializing in internal medicine. During the first wave of COVID-19, Dr. Osama was working in the Covid wing and ICU of the hospital. Dr. Osama is also passionate about social work, and has volunteered at several medical camps, including one in Tharparker, Sindh. During the first wave of the pandemic, he arranged and volunteered at a medical camp in his native village in Khyber Pakhtoonkhuwa, to provide awareness and assistance to the people while COVID-19 was at its peak.
